Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Boosters Club?

The Boosters Club was established in July 2006, when funding for Middle School and Junior varsity sports programs was cut by the school district.  Over the last 15 years, Corbett has had Booster clubs that have disband due to lack of parent participation.  If that happened today, JV and Middle School sports programs would not continue.

What does the Boosters Club fund?

1. Boosters fund all costs for ALL school sports from middle school to varsity.
2. Approximately $170,000  is needed to fund our sports program annually.
3. Boosters provide funding for all equipment, transportation costs (vans/buses), uniforms, field improvement and tournament fees.  Coaching stipends at all levels were eliminated from the school district budget so any reimbursement provided to coaches is now a Booster Club responsibility.

What does my participation fee cover?

1. Athletic fees only cover a portion of the costs to continue and maintain sports programs.
2. Although, we are a 3A school (just moved up – due to student #s) the cost to run a program is no different between 2A-3A and 6A.   Take for example: football – all athletes need pads, all need uniforms, all need equipment, all need transportation, all need officials, all need training equipment – the only difference between the programs at schools is how much funding the school puts into the sports program and how active the Booster Club and members are.

How does the Boosters Club raise money to continue the sports programs?

1. Booster Members and Sponsors
2. Athletic Fees
3. Fundraising Activities
4. Gate Admission
5. Concessions

How does Corbett Youth Sports fit into the mix?

1. Corbett Youth Sports (CYS) joined forces with the Boosters to ensure all athletes – Kindergarten – 12th grade are able to play sports in Corbett.
2. A percentage of all money raised is given to CYS to ensure our youngest athletes have a strong foundation to be the high school athletes of the future.
3. High School athletes and younger athletes are working closer together than ever before with camps and other programs.

Does the Boosters Club only benefit sports?

Although, athletics are the primary benefactor of Booster funds, we have also assisted – CHAMPS, Grade School PTA, and Yearbook.

Who can be a Booster Member?

We encourage everyone to be a Booster Member or Sponsor.
